Great podcast although it was a little frustrating how Jason missed many plot points in TDKR, and then pointed them out as "problems" with the movie and criticisms towards Nolan. Also really can't understand his opinion on the last 30 mins of the movie, completely baffling.

Still everyone's allowed their point of view and I wonder how he'll feel when he watches it a couple more times.

Agree with most of Glenn's thoughts, and he does a good job of explaining parts that Jason missed.

Loved the podcast though and would like it to be a regular thing. Maybe monthly?

Heh heh, we'll see. I think that we talked about so much that we'd have to wait a while just to get some new material lol.

Sorry I posted on facebook, I wasn't thinking, do you think Joker was made for the roll to be judging the court but didn't do it because of Heath's death? I don't really feel it was a good part for Scarecrow and he never wore his mask?

Well, I doubt it, because I don't see Joker doing something like that. Also, the Scarecrow lives a dual life in the comics as well, so him not wearing a mask is perfectly fine. Since the city is "being run by the inmates" he doesn't need to hide his identity at all.

I just find the scarecrow as a boring character and the joker would have had more charisma. My whole family all felt that way about this movie that it felt like it was missing the joker. I would think if the scarecrow would have gassed the inmates to scare them on the frozen river would have been more his thing but he didn't do anything except try to act like the Joker would which made me feel that he had a script written and he just threw in scarecrow to play the part. Now I am not a comic nerd and only a movie/video game nerd so i don't have your point of view. Other thing I didn't like was they commented that he would easily get his money back but then he was broke? Made no sense. It was obviously stolen and someone of Bruce Wayne's power would have never been broke, seems stupid. Alfred just disappearing without trying to find Bruce isn't in his character as well.

Nolan has said that the reason the joker isn't even mentioned in passing reference is out of respect for Heath Ledger. I'm sure if he hadn't died then the Joker would have played a part in the film.

Also about it being impossible for someone like Bruce to be broke. I disagree. Bruce Wayne's public persona is the kind of person who would do something as stupid as gambling away his money on the stock market. In the first film they actually believe he was the one who burnt down his mansion in a drunken rage. And while it's true, as Fox points out in the movie, that they could have proved fraud in time, it was enough to gain Miranda access to the Fusion reactor, which is what the whole thing was about.

In my defense... I had two shots of tequila before the Dark Knight Spoilercast swung into high gear. If my interpretation of the final act of The Dark Knight Rises was a bit muddled, twas' the worm, and not me. I think I approached this movie as more of a big fan of Chris Nolan's work then I did as a fan of Batman. In my 50 Best Films of the Decade list I published back at the end of 2009 I did list Chris Nolan as the Director of the Aughts. And he's still a powerful new voice and leader in today's filmmaking climate. So when I saw - at least my perception of - a great filmmaker slacking off at the end of trilogy he pretty much had wrapped up at that point, I was extremely disappointed. I think where a few of us part ways on this film is that I have to look at it as a movie, made by a very talented Director - and I have to ignore my history with this character. When Glenn and I were discussing Prometheus and then DKR I tried to get across the predicament both movies put me in. I love Scott and Nolan - but I can honestly say that these two films should have been their best work to date - or had every reason to be their best work to date - and both had un-ignorable issues. They both broke my heart. Which is why I turned to tequila in my time of need....

Well i really think you should watch it again, you still might consider it flawed, but you should at least find a lot of answers to your questions from the podcast.

Ummm... Pretty sure I said a few tomes in the Moviecast that I couldn't WAIT to see it again Solaris. I didn't really have any questions about the film, just a series of bad decisions and flat conflict resolutions that I felt were lazy.
