You’d have only been able to share a 45 minute demo of the
game with your 10 friends and even that wouldn’t have been available at
launch. As for cutting the original publisher in on the sale of a used
game they already take the lions share of all money on new products.
Game retailers make about £1 on a new game and £4 on a new console (this
directly from a manager of a GAME store) the only way these companies
survive is through used game sales. For publishers to want a cut of used
sales as well is just pure greed. These publishers are not the poor
destitute waifs they make themselves out to be. If they are it is due to
unrealistic sales expectations, marginalising their market (only making
games aimed at 12 years olds and frat boys) and bad business practices.

Microsoft tried to put all the limitations of P.C gaming (DRM,
limitations on used sales) on to it’s customers without any of the
benefits (competition driven price reductions, ability to upgrade
hardware) Punishing your loyal customers instead of rewarding them does
not constitute innovation. Microsoft did not have to remove the features
you liked with the DRM, they have only done so out of spite. Because
how dare we actually we want to be able to do what we want with what
we’ve paid our hard earned money for. How dare we not just go with their
demands and keep our mouths shut. If you want the features brought back
why not start an online campaign. After all, we just proved it works.

I think Don Mattrick was warned he was getting let go and had already been offered a job at Zynga so he took it. The Xbone is such a mess someone has to pay for it. Why would anyone really leave Microsoft for Zynga? That job isn’t very good really.
