Sony Teases the Future

On February 20th Sony will be holding a special event in New York City that promises to reveal the future of PlayStation. Check out the teaser trailer below.

No details were given on what to expect from the event, but that will not stop the internet from going crazy with rumors and speculation. Hopefully the “future” is that thing we all expect and want it to be.

Time to fill the comments section with your hopes and dreams for February 20th.

Just a nerd from the Windy City. I’m actually really bad at describing myself because I get all self-critical and self-conscious. Follow me on Twitter, @The1stMJC, to see my borderline insane rants on tv shows and other non important subjects. If I’m not tweeting I’m probably just watching Buffy or Firefly for the millionth time.

I’m excited, really hope I’m not disappointed.

As exciting as a PS4 announcement would be, its still too soon for me. My PS3 and Vita backlog is big enough too keep me busy for a good long while without any new stuff before I even think about next gen!

The fact that we can even say ‘Vita’ and ‘backlog’ in the same sentence, just short of the one year anniversary of the handheld’s NA debut, says a lot about how well the Vita has fared since launch. I waited a little over a year before buying a PS2, and again before buying a PS3; I can do the same with the PS4 if it’s announced.

Oh yeah having a backlog is great, certainly not complaining. Just find it a good thing when your actually quite happy as we are now. I doubt I will show your restraint when its out and get one right away. That said, Sony do like to launch on the expensive side. If it’s really expensive I may hold off a while, getting married in August and we’re saving for a mortgage after that. My fiance doesn’t value gaming as much as I do!

I would hope Sony has learned their lessons with the PS3 and Vita launch and price the new system accordingly. Also wondering how long after they PS4 reveal will they drop the PS3′s price because it’s long overdue.
