E3 2012: No Crytek games for PS Vita

Acclaimed FPS studio Crytek will not be developing any games for the PlayStation Vita – because it’s not viable in a business sense.

Speaking to a gaming site in Germany, Golem, CEO Cevat Yerli broke the news:

“The Playstation Vita is currently too uncertain for us as a platform. Technically, I find the Vita very appealing, and have fun with it – no question. From a business perspective it is a bit too late.”

Crytek are currently working on a sequel to THQ‘s Homefront, as well as continuing with their own hit franchise in Crysis 3. It looks like we’ll have to be playing those titles on PS3 only though.

Be sure to let us know in the comments section what you think of Yerli’s statement that it’s “too late” for the Vita.

I couldn’t care less about Crytek any more. I used to have high hopes for them but it became a pointless effort.

I think it’s short sighted fo them. Jobs built Apple by having a vision and taking chances, They have noen and never do.
