SEGA announces Sonic 4 spin-off and dates Episode II

SEGA today gave a release date for the upcoming final episode of Sonic 4, as well as unveiling a new spin-off title.

Sonic 4: Episode Metal Lock-on, will be a free download exclusively for owners of both Episodes I and II. As the title suggests, you’ll be playing through the game as Metal Sonic, and it will contain four acts. Apparently, the action takes place between Sonic CD and Sonic 4.

The other big news today was the release date for Episode II. The Japanese publisher announced that it’ll be available for download on May 15th via the PSN, with a price point of $14.99(US)/ £9.99/€12.99/$18.25(AU).
